a YWAM initiative

YWAM Converge is supported by a new YWAM ministry team in Ocean City, NJ. The YWAM Ocean City, NJ team is dedicated to help people from every walk of life, including believers in Jesus Christ, to discover their passions and purpose to serve God and make a difference in the world.

Founded by four YWAM staff and professionals, the Student Mobilization Centre offers students and recent graduates who are actively searching for internships the chance to experience what it means to make a real-world difference through their life and work. It enables them to search for ideal opportunities based on their spiritual journey, personal interests and professional skills.

The Student Mobilization Centre is a center of YWAM’s University of the Nations, an international post-secondary training center founded in 1978 and currently training 15,000 students in one of more than 300 registered courses in 97 languages.

Since 1986, we have mobilized 342 students from over 100 different colleges and universities onto 75 internship teams in over 35 countries. These interns help start businesses and plant churches, establish HIV/AIDS counseling clinics and health awareness campaigns, install water pumps and storage facilities, establish therapy routines for disabled children in orphanages, perform research on patient records in medical clinics, establish pharmacies with donated pharmaceuticals, develop healthy nutritional plans for hospice, and create curricula for schools.

Converge, the platform, is for anyone, anywhere.

The Converge DTS

The YWAM Ocean City, NJ team also offers YWAM's Discipleship Training School, registered with the UofN. It is a 6-8 month learning adventure that will bring participants into a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. The Converge DTS is the full-time training program required to become a YWAM staff member or to attend higher level coursework with the University of the Nations. (Note: The Converge internship course is not a DTS.) See our listing on YWAM.org here.

beliefs

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is a global movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As citizens of God’s kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His Body, the Church, and to present the whole gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.

We of Youth With A Mission believe that the Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God’s son; that people are created in God’s image; that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ; that although all people have sinned and come short of God’s glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ; that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to God’s initiative of grace towards us; that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth; and that the Holy Spirit’s power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ’s last commandment, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” (Mark 16:15).

foundational values

The Foundational Values of Youth With A Mission are the expression of our basic beliefs coupled with specific directives given by God since YWAM’s beginning in 1960.   These shared documents are the guiding principles for both the past and future growth of our mission. Some are common to all Christians everywhere; others are distinctive to Youth With A Mission.
