Connecting Students to Global Internship Opportunities
The Converge Story
In 1987, John Henry began an extended time of study, prayer and fasting about how university students have been used in the past and how they could be used to make a difference today. John suddenly saw the importance of mobilizing students to serve on global internships in every sphere of society. In 1996, after mobilizing students to dozens of countries through internships, John and a small team of associates founded the Student Mobilization Centre of Youth With A Mission as a 501(c)3 registered organization in Virginia. In 2004, John and his international team pioneered the first School of University Ministries & Missions in Delhi, India. In 2013, John and a hybrid team of staff, volunteers, and paid engineers created and tested the Converge prototype.
The Converge Platform
We have developed Converge, a searchable registry of internship opportunities, a missional learning course, and a social fundraising platform to equip emerging leaders.
