We must learn how to have emotionally healthy relationships, beginning in our families
A community event with biblical and practical instruction, evangelistic skits, and small group discussions To learn how to build relationships, understand conflicts, and have difficult conversations with grace. We will learn to humble ourselves and laugh as we practice skills to build healthy relationships.
Conflicts can arise for many reasons, including disagreements over values, motivations, perceptions, ideas, or desires. Conflict is exacerbated by deeper, unresolved trauma, guilt, or grief. We must have compassion to discern the deeper need.
The workshop has five segments, each with four components: Skit, Speaker, Groups, Feedback. Skits help to illustrate with humor the depth of relationship problems and the simplicity of the solution. Small group leaders must be participants who sensitively facilitate opportunities for participants to recognize and begin to process their relationship challenges. A large group feedback time will help summarize each learning segment.

Biblical Basis
Christians should speak out on moral issues not because they feel ‘offended’ or because their ‘cherished beliefs’ are threatened, but because they have compassion for those who are trapped by destructive ideas. Our Biblical motivation is that we are “compelled by the love of Christ.”
2 Cor. 5:14
“If anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness”
Gal. 6:1
“Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse. Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you. Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Proverbs 9:7-10 NIV
