Start a Campus Discipleship Group

Step 1: The Table

The first step to making a difference is how we think about it. With vision and a unified team effort, you can change your campus culture, starting at a table.

Believe it or not, your campus is a mission field. If you are a Christ-follower, you are called as a missionary to your campus.

Christian student groups may exist on campus, however more missional vision and practice is needed. Jesus did not sit on a throne; he sat at tables.

Here’s how to start: Ask a few people to join you. Then share meals with people who are confused, rejected, and desperate.

We offer a free guide to start your own Table discussion group, with weekly plans and menus that follow 2000 years of the advance of God’s kingdom.

“I think it is a very powerful message and should be shared with as many people as possible. I have certainly passed it on. The whole point of eating as part of divine fellowship is crucial to who we are as human beings.” - David Aikman

Step 3: Pray for the Campus

To missionally engage the campus with the Good News of Jesus, you need to first spend time listening to Him.

If you have already completed Steps 1 & 2, you should have learned how to pray and listen together by following Joy Dawson’s Principles for Effective Intercession.

To bring the hope of Christ to every student on your campus, this is probably the most important thing the Campus Missions group can do together.
